Russia: apple concentrate import from China increase
According to the analysts of Fruit-Inform, Russia has increased its apple concentrate purchases. While all the major importers of Chinese concentrate reduced the purchasing in the first half of 2010, Russia was the only country, which imports of concentrate from China raised. During the first six months of 2010 44 tonnes of apple concentrate from China was delivered to Russian market , that is 10% more than in the corresponding period last year.
Fruit-Inform experts consider, that Russian manufacturers of fruit juices are trying to avoid further decline in demand for their products, so they buy the cheapest raw materials, responding to changes in the structure of consumer demand. Another factor in the growth of Chinese concentrates purchases is this year's expected decline in apple production in Russia and a sharp rebound in prices for industrial apple.
